Sije Kingma - Filmartist

Op 18 april draait mijn one-minute film “Cyborg Scheme” uit 2009 in het EYE, Amsterdam. De animatie is opgenomen in het programma “Skindeep” samengesteld door platform “Cinema Zuid”. Kun je niet wachten? Kijk em dan online!

Het filmproject “Godzilla Bolognese” zit er op! 4 propedeuse studenten van Academie Minerva Groningen hebben 5 dagen lang gewerkt aan een bonte superpower-kunst-film vol animatie, absurde supereigenschappen, alluminiumfolie, stop-motion, greenscreen, vonken en comics. Bekijk hier het verpletterende eindresultaat! ps. Dit was de eerste keer dat deze studenten met video en animatie hebben gewerkt als medium, zeker geen slecht eindresultaat!

During a videoproject at the academy of fine arts Minerva in Groningen, I led 4 students in producing a short art-film. Illustrious superheroes show their unusual talents and superpowers in this combination of stop-motion animation and live action film. Enjoy! ps. This was the first experience of all four students to work with video as a medium. It was all produced , shot, cut and edited in only 5 days, pretty impressive

For the experimental documentary Visionary sounds, I was invited to create a videopiece that reflected on the words and ideas of musician Kwabata Makoto.

Visionary sounds is a documentary film about the future of music. It is composed by six interviews in which music and sound artists reveal their in-depth knowledge about the subject. Every interview is illustrated by a different video-artist, all of them giving their personal point of view, foreseeing the evolution of sound, music and art.

Een eerste montage rond het nieuwste filmproject “Sinus”. Een duistere crossover tussen stripboek en animatie. De uiteindelijke pilot wordt in april 2013 gepresenteerd.

Van 4 tot 19 oktober vindt het project “StreetVideoArt” plaats in Parijs. “StreetVideoArt” is een initiatief van Milan Atanaskovic van ArtTelevision. Op verschillende plekken in de Parijse binnenstad wordt op straat videokunst vertoond. Van 20 oktober tot 8 november is een overzicht van dit videowerk te zien in de  Larcade Gallery in Parijs. From 9 till 19 October the project “StreetVideoArt” takes place in Paris. “StreetVideoArt” is an initiative of Milan Atanaskovic of ArtTelevision. In the streets of downtown Paris, different videoartfilms are shown. An overview of this work can be seen at the Larcade Gallery in Paris from 20 October till 8 November. This video shows an overview of short art films and an experimental TV pilot I produced over the last year. These are free projects, produced in my own studio. They mostly represent Boy-like fantasies full of bombs, LEGO, Gameboys, comics and weird anti-heroes. The music is from Barry Gray. Enjoy!

Aanstaande vrijdag 25 maart gaat Sije Kingma’s Black Space in wereldpremière. Dit gebeurt tijdens het Mediakunstfestival MAFF in Almelo.

Black Space is een zwarte poppenfilm over een duister robot-wezen. Na een poging tot contact met de kijker wordt deze cyborg verscheurt door angst en agressie. Na angstvallig te hebben toegekeken wordt de toeschouwer zelf slachtoffer van dit schouwspel. Bekijk hier alvast de trailer. Meer info: http://www.almelomaff.nl/

In september 2010 startte filmkunstenaar Sije Kingma het multimediacollectief Polderpulp. Opererend vanuit een stoffig atelier in het noorden van Groningen geeft Polderpulp handen en voeten aan excentrieke videoconcepten.

Polderpulp is een dynamisch samenwerkingsverband met wisselende deelnemers.

Van september 2010 tot februari 2011 werkte Kingma intensief samen met Kevin Bethlehem en Bart Koomen, twee studenten AudioVisueel aan het Alfa-College Groningen.

Dit resulteerde in het project Polderpulp - Aflevering 0, een bonte verzameling  jongensfilms. Bommen, granaten, DiscoZombies, GameBoys en LEGO zijn samengebald in deze explosieve video!

De lancering van Polderpulp - Aflevering 0 vindt plaats op aanstaande zaterdag 19 februari om 16:00 uur in het atelier van Sije Kingma. Daarna is deze aflevering onbeperkt te bekijken op www.polderpulp.com. Aansluitend wordt Kingma’s korte film Enoch getoond.
